King Crimson "Larks' Tongues In Aspic, p1"

David Cross's violin was basically the thing that made me fall in love with strings in the first place. For me, he's the godfather of violin rock.

Lissa Schneckenburger is a fiddler out of New England - a collaborator with many of the "Republic of Strings" artists. Her latest disc is entitled Song and features many traditional fiddle styles. And a sweet voice that will make you melt.

Jesse Alejandro & the Big Fatt is a large group based in Brooklyn, complete with a horn section and a string section. Their latest disc is called Belly Full of Brains

James Kennedy has been on this program twice before. His rootsy, bluesy guitar-oriented recordings frequently feature the violin of his wife Catherine Lawson, of the few violinists able to hold her own in a blues environment. This tune is from Kennedy's latest disc QED.

Omar Lopez
is a flamenco violinist based in Austin. This new single "Synergy" is a more contemporary take on his usual sound, but compelling nonetheless. He also is the first artist to actually submit a track for this show without me begging for it. He was first featured on Episode 002 of this show.

Thanks everyone!
